  1. Great Video! It’s really helpful to me. Can you recommend any other
eyeshadows that are as matte as these in the video? As I live in Germany, I
cannot get some brands that you are using 🙁 And in drugstores, there are
    only so many shimmery colours…

I came across your video by chance… and I’m so glad! I’ve subscribed!
I’m going to watch this particular video a few more times so that I can be
sure to memorize how you did the corner shadowing. Thanks!

  3. Adrienne McGuire says

Thanks for making this video. Very helpful. I have hooded lids and although
I “sort of” used some of your techniques – you really made it clear to me
that I was doing a few things wrong. THANKS!!! :)

  4. Great tips! personally I think hooded eyes are better. If you don’t want to
wear eyeshadow at all you can still look really put together with a good
mascara, as the lashes stand out more anyway :)

Best advise I have ever had for hooded eyes!!!! Its helped me so much!!! I
have been playing around with different colours as well now love these
tips… I could never understand either why my makeup wouldnt look as good
and the way I copied it off of tutorials and magazines either…

  7. Oh yay! A person with hooded eyes that does makeup tutorials! I feel like
    I’ve found the holy grail.

  8. I have hooded eyes I’m also 56 yrs old do u think the painterly pots primer
would work well for me? I love the colors u used I’m going to try this on
    me. Thank you

  9. I’m so glad I found you… This was the best tutorial for hooded eyes that
I’ve seen on YouTube. The tips were all new to me, especially the placement
of the darkest shadow in such a small area of the crease, versus using the
entire crease, which really makes a difference! Thank you!

  10. Sally Graves says

I have even more hooded eyes :(

  11. Philomena Leavitt says

This is soo helpful! I was born with “hooded” eyes, so I have practically
given up altogether on using eye shadow because it never even shows let
alone looks the same as everyone else. None of my friends have “hooded”
eyes so its really hard for me to take tips from them. And until now I’ve
been searching for some kind of technique! You are awesome – I can’t thank
you enough for this tutorial video! I’m going to keep all these tips in
mind 🙂 btw you are soo pretty!!!

  12. I never really got into makeup until I was 17/18. Before then, I thought
every other white person’s eyes were like mine. Whenever I drew eyes, I
drew the hooded part. The first time I realised that people have different
eyes was when a friend drew an eye, and she drew the crease way higher than
I usually did. At first I thought she’d got it physiologically wrong.
As I’ve become more and more interested in makeup, I’ve noticed that most
tutorials and photos only depict women with “archetypal” full-lidded eyes
with upturned corners. For someone like me, with not only hooded eyes, but
also downturned corners, this has been extremely disheartening. I’m glad
someone is FINALLY taking us into consideration.

  13. Madison Davis says

The blinking really bothers me. Hard to focus

  14. Wow, can u come to my house and do that to me 😉 great tips. I’m new to
this type of lid so I really need some advice. Thank u for your tutorial!

    helpful, thank you.

Are you Finnish or Swedish? I’m British and have hooded eyes and always
thought they were so weird looking and a beauty defect. I now know I have
Scandinavian ancestry, and I know that hooded eyes are a common trait. So
now I know they’re just a ‘ethnic’ feature rather than a deformity, I
really like my eyes now! They’re different and people do comment on them.
Now I know how to apply makeup- thanks to people like you, I can make them
    look really beautiful.

  19. Annabelle Miller says

Thank you for your tutorial with the hooded eyes I will be watching this
video many times and I’ve also subscribed thank you so much.

  20. Thank you, I had all but stopped wearing makeup because I haven’t been able
to get my eyes right for a long time. Can’t thank you enough . can’t wait
to try these tips out !

  21. Teena LeStalker says

I have hooded eyes- and it’s so hard to do anything without having my eyes
look smaller or just weird, I really think this helped.

  22. Esmeralda Pineda says

Thank you so much!! This really helped me. :)

  23. Tracey Shebaz says

Miss Mai, I’m surprised with all the hooded eye videos that no one seems to
have my problem. I avoid using eyeliner on my top lid because it comes off
above. When I look down a bit, you can see the black “wishbone.” Maybe
this is because I have hooded and oily lids? Or maybe I need a better
eyeliner but I have tried many.

  24. Kristina Holm says

Thank you so much for making this video! I never understood why my makeup
ALWAYS ended up looking so different (most of the time awful!) after I
tried different tutorials online and then I realised it’s simply because I
have different eyelids. I’m still having a tough time figuring out how to
make my makeup look awesome because of my eyelids but this video has really
helped me, so once again, thank you so much!
