I am pretty sure you are mixed race. I’m black and my whole family is black. No one in my family has natural straight hair. Some of them are light-skinned and their hair is a little straighter but that’s probably due to their being more or less mixed.

People are steady running their mouths about a black chick with long hair or light skin being mixed. Mainly other black folks. Shut up. No one really cares if they’re mixed because nine times out of then you are not all the way black yourself. Plus it is insulting cause basically what you are saying is they only have their good looks because they are mixed. As if there are no pretty dark-skinned African women with long hair. Get some self-esteem, stop obsessing over being everything but black.

i’m really mixed, and my hair is not only different textures in patches (from straight to curly) and also slightly different colors. (some are really really dark brown and other patches are a lighter brown and a dark mahogany kind of red)
but my brother has very curly and knotty hair, all one color (it’s jet black, although that might be our asian ancestry…) and i’m not any “less black” then he is 🙂

Technically all african americans are not 1 hundred percent black weather we like to hear it or not. Some are less black then others which affects our hair type.
