moisturizing and conditioning your hair while u straighten it as normal
hair iron is terrible for the hair due to the immerse heat

I have naturally curly hair that I straighten too. I use Kerastase oleo
relax slim leave in it really helps my hair not be poofy! I use Kerastase
oleo relax serum to flat iron with & Ciment thermique heat protectant for
blowdrying as well. :)
