Uhm no she is latina which is quite evident in her accent and appearance, she has looser finer hair probably than yours. Your hair sounds like you have the more coarse tighter curls. There are different types of curly hair and you should probably watch an African American curly hair video for exact tips that will work for you, since your not Latina and have totally different curl patterns.
