I have nothing against natural hair, but this is the reason I couldnt stay
natural. I went natural for two years and experienced a TON of growth. I
kept my hair conditioned and oiled. I did as little harm to as I could. I
straightened it maybe three times during those years. No matter what I did,
I still had to cut more than I wanted to . The ends never did right. I
couldn’t take losing that much hair every time it was time for a trim. Now
Im back to relaxers. I can actually keep the hair that grows on my head.

  2. Hey Mo, i love when u make these videos and give those helpful tips they
helped me on my hair ALOT!!!! When u was curling her hair i saw dandruff,
was that her hair or the products?:)

  3. +Mo Knows Hair Great video! I learned alot. I have an allergy to Argan Oil.
Do you know a good alternative to Argan oil?

  4. I straightened my hair about two months ago to see how long it had gotten.
About a week later once I decided to washed it i noticed it some of my ends
wouldn’t curl any more. how can i avoid this happening again? Also I want
to add this is the first time i straightened my hair in a year.

Ok I live in iowa most of the schools in iowa do not train their stylist in
natural hair, so I have NO one to refer any questions to. So my question
is… is it necessary to braid or twist the hair every nite, my hair is 4c,
and I’ve been natural for 10 months, feels like I pulling my hair out!

  6. Hi Mo! I would love to see you do a tutorial using the Instyler Pro on one
of your friends with type 4 hair!!!

+Mo Knows Hair every time i straighten my hair it doesnt last even 30
minutes because it gets poofy again. i have a really cheap flat iron do you
think thats the reason? or is it the products im using? its really
frustrating to spend so much time straightening for it to just get curly
    again the same day :(

Nice video. Thank you! Your models hair texture is the same as mine and I
have not seen many examples that represent me.

Hi Mo, I need some tips on my natural hair. (1) I’m not sure what hair type
I am. (2) I have a few barriers with my hair such as: dryness and tangling.
I grease it daily and still find that it’s dry…the other thing is after I
wash it, add my leave in conditioners & blow dry it, it tends to feel
dry/brittle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

I used to have scalp issUes like the woman in the video. Shampoos specified
for itchy/dandruff/dry scalp didn’t help and trying to oil my scalp didn’t
help either. ..then I found my holy grail in kiehls magic elixir. It’s a
pre poo oil treatment for scalp and hair and I haven’t Seen one flake upon
    my scalp since :)

I love that color on her hair too 🙂 brown hair is pretty!

African American hair comes in all types of textures which makes it very
versatile, unlike flat, stringy hair. As an AA woman who prefers to wear
her hair relaxed minimally, I find that my hair is strong, it doesn’t need
holding sprays to hold it in a style, the roots help it maintain the
style. I can wear braids, locs, straighten it, wear it in it’s natural
state, the possibilities are endless, I just DON’T wear weaves, contrary to
popular thoughs and uneducated opinions on AA hair. I love my thick hair.
While other races soon start to see bald spots while aging, I’m glad that
won’t be my lot! Smooches, haters!

  14. Can someone tell me a good light oil to use instead of coconut oil?

  15. I have such a new-found respect for african americans now. The
straightening process takes forever for you guys!

Thanks so much for this. I always wonder what heat setting I should use and
people keep suggesting low heat settings (330-360), but my hair is too
coarse for that…I think. lol. I may just use a high setting when I
finally flat iron. I really appreciate the fact that you’re not hiding any
    details.

You are an awesome stylist ! Where is ur salon ? Hopefully in NYC cuz I
    wanna come by !!!

Now I have a question how would I be able to figure out what hair type I
have ? It’s spiral curls when wet but then when it dries it kind of puffs
up yet some parts are still spiral-y I thought it was 4a but now I’m
thinking it might be 4c I’m just slightly confused

  19. Adaeze Duncan says

I have very very long 4c hair it’s past my bra I live in Iowa and I don’t
have anyone I trust to do my hair because none of them are educated enough
to do natural hair (or At least I haven’t found anyone) I have been natural
for 4 years. Anyhow I noticed you didn’t blow dry her hair was there a
reason why you just went straight for the flat iron after letting her fully
dry under the hood? I saw in another video, you had a lady with 4aish hair
and you let her hair semi dry under the hood and then blow dried and flat
ironed….. 2. Would that technique work for any 4c hair. I haven’t tried
this and straightening my hair has become a drawn out all day nightmare.
    3. Do you recommend all of those products you used on her hair for any
other 4c clients of yours, I have tried to steer clear of becoming a
product junkie… Thanks for your educational videos!!!!!!! Much needed!!!

  20. I’m not sure how I found your video, but i’m glad I did. Very Informative!

  21. nayenaye1992 says

I love how nice & thick her hair is 🙂 whether its natural or straightened,
our hair is soo versatile <3

  22. Wow! Just subscribed! blackgirllonghair. com brought me here. When I see a
10 min. vid I begin to think ‘omg, useless blabbing, boring talk’ but your
vid was educational, informative yet cool to watch.

  23. KinkyCoilyBeauty says

Wow, this video way very helpful! New subbie! I love it! Wish you were In
NC so you can do my hair! I desperately need a trim and is skeptical about
    salons here.

  24. For those who don’t have coarse hair making comments without watching their
words on how the process is long and how you understand why some women wear
weaves etc etc..non coarse hair can easily get damaged without proper
conditioning..I know I have seen it happened..then they too have to go
through a long process of repairing their hair!

  25. FollowingTheRain says

Omh her hair came out like perfection! I love love love your videos I feel
so educated every time I watch haha.

We Love to Hear From You
